Chef Michael Lau is currently the Senior instructor chef at Baking Industry Training College. He has been in the culinary training since year 2000. Over the years he has conducted training for Kids with special needs, Singapore Corporation Of Rehabilitative Enterprise (SCORE) and Adult training in different Continuing Education and Training (CET Centre). Chef Michael who specializes in Chinese cuisine was a Culinary Instructor with the Diploma in Baking and Culinary Science at the Applied Science School, Temasek Polytechnic (TP). With his passion to teach, he has been sharing useful knowledge and his years of experience with his students since 2007. Prior to TP, Chef Michael was a culinary trainer at the Singapore Culinary Institute where he was involved in training as well as developing curriculums under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) framework. Apart from previously being a Training Manager at the Restaurant Association of Singapore Training Center, he was also a Chef Educator and Curriculum Designer at the At-Sunrice culinary institute. His other past culinary experiences included places such as the Pavilion Intercontinental Hotel, the Red Star Restaurant, the Phoenix Court Restaurant, Wine shows and PGA golf catering events in Seattle. Recently, in year 2012, Chef Michael was being awarded the International Master Chef for Chinese Cuisine by the World Association of Chinese Cuisine, which is one of the honorable recognition being in the food and beverage industry.Chef Michael graduated from the Washington State University with an Advanced Diploma in Professional Studies in Hotel and Restaurant Administration and later received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts from the Seattle Central Community College.
