Principal’s Message

Dear Visitor,

As Principal, I would like to welcome you to the Baking Industry Training College or “BITC” which is now a member of Coleman College. BITC started as a joint initiative of Prima Limited and the Singapore Productivity & Standards Board in 1993 to help upgrade the Baking industry by offering professional training and certification up to Diploma level. In June 2017, it left the Prima Group to become a member of Coleman College.

As a member of Coleman College, BITC will continue to offer professional training and certification from certificates to diplomas for the Baking industry from its new premises at Block 167, Jalan Bukit Merah, #02-15, Connection One, Tower 4, Singapore 150167. Besides our own short courses, Certificate and Diploma programmes, BITC also conducts Skills Future Singapore’s WSQ and ITEES’ NITEC in Services Pastry and Baking.

Let me share a little about Coleman College. Started in 1983, we celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2017. Today we provide a range of educational programmes from high school, to engineering, tourism and hospitality, make-up and now baking. As a member of Coleman College, BITC will continue to help upgrade the baking industry by working closely with industry partners to develop and deliver training programmes that will provide our graduates with professional knowledge, skills and competencies to work or start a business in the baking industry.

Before becoming Principal of BITC, I have spent more than 20 years in curriculum design and course development for schools, training centres and companies in different industries. As a hobby, I have spent much time learning baking especially breads and pizzas. More recently, I have developed an Italian pizzeria. As Principal, I would like to introduce courses that are relevant and current so that our graduates can find jobs in the baking industry or start their own businesses.

I look forward to your continued support as BITC continues its journey to help raise the standard of the baking industry as an important component of the food services industry.
